All Davroe products contain natural plant and mineral based ingredients. They are carefully formulated not to contain any potentially harmful or toxic chemicals.

Our formulating staff designs all our products based on the principle of LOW IRRITANCY to the scalp and skin so you know the product you choose will be mild and safe to use for everyone.

The natural ingredients in Davroe Hair Wellness products have been carefully screened through laboratory testing.

All our natural based products are handmade in small batches to ensure the highest quality of our products.

Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), Sodium Laureth Sulphate (SLES) Ammonium Lauryl Sulphate (ALS) & Ammonium Laureth Sulphate (ALES) are harsh cleansing agents called surfactants.  

Surfactants are found in most hair care shampoos and toothpastes. They are known irritants and along with causing skin irritation they can strip the hair of hair colour and natural oils. SLS, SLES,

ALS & ALES are used widely because they are cheap, widely available and cost is definitely a factor when manufacturers are deciding on their formulations. There are safer alternatives to SLS, SLES, ALS & ALES but they can cost up to five to ten times more.

Parabens are the most commonly used preservatives in personal care & hair care products.

The common chemical name for these preservatives is Alkyl Hydroxy Benzoate.

These chemicals are becoming more and more controversial and maybe associated with the increase risk of some cancers. Whilst it is still inconclusive, Davroe laboratories choose to use alternative natural-based preservatives in all their hair care & body products.

Davroe’s LOW IRRITANT philosophy includes the use of only very mild surfactants in all our shampoos.

Petrochemicals are by-products of crude oil and are added to hair care products as moisturisers, styling agents and various hair protectants.

Common petrochemicals found in hair care products include mineral oil, paraffin and petrolatum.

While petrochemicals have been used in hair care for many years we now know that they are bad for the environment and do not come from renewable sources.

The entire davroe range is petrochemical free

Silicones are a group of ingredients that provide a wide variety of benefits including improved combing, shine, conditioning and also heat and colour protection.

They are derived from silica (sand) and have a long and safe history in hair and skin care.

There are however some issues with Dimethicone in shampoos (which we don’t use) because they can build up, coat the hair shaft and prevent proper cleansing.

Davroe products are 100% Vegan, our entire range does not use or contain animal ingredients.

Why? Because we are against animal cruelty and strongly believe there is no need these days.

We choose to use plant-based alternatives that are superior.

We believe testing anything cosmetic on animals is wrong.

There have been numerous ways to test for safety for many years that don’t require animal testing.

Davroe Laboratories are based in the foot of the famous Adelaide Hills in South Australia.

All Davroe products are designed, formulated and manufactured right here in Australia.

Davroe also exports their hair care products to Asia, South Africa & Europe.

Davroe uses food grade Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) and Polypropylene (PP) in all product bottles. We also use recycled cardboard for all our distribution boxes & product packaging.
